Peterborough Is Getting Pickleball Fever

Pickleball is sort of a hybrid sport between ping pong, tennis and badminton. The game is played with a hard paddle and a whiffle ball, on a badminton sized court. It feels like tennis, but is a slower game as the ball doesn't travel as fast as a tennis ball. The game is very popular among seniors—it's usually played as doubles—but is fun for all ages. A group has been playing at the Wellness Centre for the past few months and at the Legacy Bowl in Knights of Columbus Park recently (see pics below), where about 20 people showed up. Organizers would eventually like to see a pickleball court in Peterborough.
