Awesome Family Fun Activities At Beavermead Campground August 8th/9th

Otonabee Conservation is offering great environmental activities for the entire family to enjoy at Beavermead Campground the weekend of August 8th-9th. Participation is free and pre-registration is not required.

Activities on Saturday, August 8th include...

-> 10:00-11:00 a.m.  Yoga in the Park
Join Tracy Huckins for outdoor family-friendly yoga. Bring your own mat or a towel.
                                               
-> 11:30-12:30 p.m.  Guided Paddling Tour of Little Lake

Bring your own canoe or kayak or use one made available, and join Otonabee Conservation staff for a guided tour of Little Lake and Meade Creek.
 
-> 2:00-3:00 p.m.  Indian River Reptile Zoo

Join staff from the Indian River Reptile Zoo to learn about snakes, turtles, reptiles and meet live specimens.
 
-> 8:00-9:00 p.m.  Bat Walk

Are you interested in watching the nocturnal antics of local bats? Join the Peterborough Field Naturalists for a night walk to learn about local bat species, behavior and habitat.
 
-> 8:00-10:00 p.m. Campfire

Meet at the Group Camping Site near the Gatehouse for a campfire under the stars.

Activities on Sunday, August 9th include...

-> 11:00-1:00 p.m. OFAH/OPG TackleShare Fishing Workshop
The OFAH/OPG TackleShare crew will have everything young anglers need to safely cast out a line, including rods, reels, tackle, bait and personal floatation gear. The team will also have an interactive educational display, which includes introductory fishing instruction, information on invasive species and water safety, and lessons on aquatic habitat and conservation. Ontario Fishing License requirements apply.
