An Evening of Comedy, Music and Drama to Benefit Refugee Families At Market Hall

On Saturday, February 20th at 8 pm, THE NEXT STAGE is presenting A Concert in Aid of Peterborough’s Refugee Families at Market Hall Performing Arts Centre.

This special evening of comedy, music and drama to benefit Peterborough’s refugee families is hosted by comedian Seán Cullen, and features some of the best talent from Peterborough and across Canada.

This special show is being presented by Peterborough’s sponsorship groups who are bringing refugee families to Peterborough, in association with New Stages, with all proceeds going to the New Canadians Centre to assist with refugee resettlement.

Award-winning Canadian actress Fiona Reid will perform Alan Bennett’s “A Bed Among the Lentils”, a dramatic monologue originally written by English playwright Alan Bennett in 1987 as part of his Talking Heads series for the BBC.

Glynis Ranney, originally from Peterborough and a Crestwood graduate, is also performing. She has performed at both the Shaw and Stratford Festivals and many theatres in Toronto and across the country.

PCVS grads Jonathan Cullen, who performed in The Book of Mormon musical and in Billy Elliot, and brother Stephen Cullen, who performed in Toronto productions of Top Gun: The Musical and Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, are also performing.

The evening also includes performances by Peterborough’s finest talent—Kate Suhr, Kate Brioux, and Paul Crough.
