Peterborough Concert Band Hosting PATH Benefit Concert For Oct. 15

The Peterborough Concert Band is holding a special musical program, ‘The PATH Forward’ to benefit Peterborough Action for Tiny Homes (PATH) for Oct. 15 at Market Hall.

The performance is conducted by Juno-nominated Music Director Saman Shahi as Kate Suhr and Megan Murphy will guide the audience through a program that features big band standards, classical gems, new compositions and vocals. A celebratory reception hosted by PATH volunteers will follow the concert.

All tickets are $40 ($44 including HST and fees). They are available by phone (705-775-1503), at the box office and online. Live streaming tickets are also available online and are $10 each.

Canadian icons Blue Rodeo returns to the Peterborough Memorial Centre with special guest Melissa Payne on Dec. 28.

The band is touring, celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the band’s fifth studio album ‘Five Days in July.’

Ennismore’s Melissa Payne is bringing her background in old-time fiddle and traditional Celtic music to the stage.

“This night in December has become an annual favourite for the Peterborough community,” said Jeremy Giles, PMC facility manager. “Blue Rodeo’s music always brings the feelings of celebration and fun to the PMC. A band with a catalogue like theirs keeps fans singing along as they play hit after hit. We are really thrilled to be able to welcome our local girl Melissa Payne to this lineup as well this year.”

Interacting Show 'Dinosaur World Live' Charges Its Way To the Peterborough Memorial Centre On May 4

Interactive children’s theatre show, Dinosaur World Live, has be brought back to the Peterborough Memorial Centre (PMC) by popular demand for a show scheduled for May 4, announced on Tuesday.

Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. at the PMC Box Office, online or by calling 705-743-3561. Tickets are $45 and $65 (plus applicable fees).

Puppetry is used to bring life-like dinosaurs to the stage, with pre-historic creatures such as the tyrannosaurus rex, giraffatitan, microraptor, stegosaurus and triceratops.

The show introduces Miranda, daughter of paleontologists, who grew up surrounded by dinosaurs on a far-away island off the coast of South America. She has brought her dinosaur friends for you to meet.

A Christmas RockStory, A Holiday Circus Spectacular! is ready to spread its festive cheer and entertainment to the Peterborough Memorial Centre on Dec. 15.

Put on by Q Productions Las Vegas, the show dives into a whimsical world where a Holiday-loving storyteller and an egocentric rockstar clash, unite and bring down the house. Acrobats, aerialists, daredevils, singers and comedic actors are there to provide laughs, dazzle your senses and include mash-ups of classic holiday hits according to a press release.

Tickets are priced at $39.50, $54.50 and $69.50. Kids ticket prices of $29.50 are for children under 12. They go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. at the Memorial Centre box office, online or by phone at 705-743-3561.

The Arkells 'At Your Service' Tour Ends at the Peterborough Memorial Centre For Nov. 11

Canadian band The Arkells are set to rock the Peterborough Memorial Centre on Nov. 11, announced on Tuesday.

The Peterborough stop is the last leg of their ‘At Your Service’ tour running from Sept. 29 to Oct 22. It was added as part of three Canadian shows which included Guelph and St. Catherine’s.

“It’s been four long years since we’ve played these towns,” says frontman Max Kerman. “We’ve had amazing memories in Guelph, St. Catharines and Peterborough and it’s because of the real, longstanding relationships we have with these places. We started playing ‘em in tiny bars, and now we’re playing in the hockey barns.”

Two-time Grammy-nominated artist K.Flay is opening for the band for the performance.

Tickets for the nine-time JUNO Award winners go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m., with fan pre-sales on Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Hands on activities call you to participate in: Axe Throwing, Spear Throwing, Archery, and Sword Cutting.

Each sword fighting style takes center stage where they showcase their form of medieval combat.

Each sword fighting group also has a booth set up where their knowledgeable members can converse with you about History, Armour, and/or Weapons
