One of the key techniques jewellers learn to master is the process of joining metal pieces using solder and a flame torch. This workshop is intended to help you better understand the process and how to apply those skills to solder jumprings, attach earring posts and make pieces of jewellery including rings, earrings chains or pendants.Topics covered include: torch safety, sweat soldering, heat control, use of flux, T-joints, seams, types of solder, multiple step soldering, and fusing. A variety of torches will be employed and their differences explained.
