Harry Manx

Blues, World Music Songwriter

Presented by Folk Under The Clock

Friday February 5, 2016 – 8:00 PM

Harry Manx has been dubbed an “essential link” between the music of the East and West, creating short musical stories that wed the tradition of the Blues with the depth of classical Indian ragas.

In the mid 80’s he began a five-year tutelage with Rajasthani Indian musician Vishwa Mohan Bhatt (Grammy winner with Ry Cooder for ‘A Meeting By The River’) and began playing the Mohan Veena (20- stringed sitar /guitar hybrid.

Manx is a prolific artist with nine albums in eight years. He has received seven Maple Blues Awards and his albums have garnered five Juno nominations. His latest album ,’20 Strings and the Truth’ is a mostly instrumental album, which fans had been asking for.

His music is hard to resist, easy to digest and keeps audiences coming back for more !

“Watching Harry play tonight I feel like I learned something new…” – Bruce Springsteen(after seeing Harry perform “I’m on Fire”)
