You are invited to "Many Windows - One Light," a weekend celebration of Peterborough's rich spiritual diversity. Come prepared to kindle new friendships.
Together, we'll highlight our shared values by exploring the themes of love, unity and service to the wider world. This event is made possible by a planning circle including people of all ages from many spiritual paths, and is jointly sponsored by The Unitarian Fellowship of Peterborough and Beth Israel Synagogue.
Here's an overview of the weekend:
Saturday, October 14
Afternoon Gathering (3pm - 5pm) - a lively group of people will use various forms of expression (stories, music, prayer, etc) to offer personal reflection on how their spiritual practices give hope, promote love, foster unity, build community and serve the wider world. Doors open at 2:00pm.
Saturday Potluck Dinner (5pm - 7pm) - a vegetarian potluck featuring multicultural culinary delights. Please bring a dish to share, labeled with ingredients.
Saturday Evening Entertainment (7pm - 9pm) - featuring a rich array of song, dance and storytelling. If you'd like to offer something, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
We welcome people of all ages to Saturday’s events.
Sunday, October 15
Community Conversation (1pm - 4pm) - features a hosted conversation appropriate for mature youth and adults in which participants will be drawn into a space where you can speak with the certainty of being heard, a place where strangers become neighbours in one community in which we all belong. We will explore how our distinct strands represent our community as it truly is...a community of complexity and wholeness.
Would you like to feel a sense of welcome and step gently outside everyday life? Would you like to feel changed, challenged, and enlightened? Would you like to feel less wary of different ways of life, or meet a compelling stranger who opens you up to new worlds?
Doors open at 12:30pm.
We request that you register separately for each part of the weekend you plan to attend. Look for "Many Windows - One Light" on Eventbrite.ca to register.
The Saturday events are free (voluntary donations greatly appreciated.). The Sunday Community Conversation has a suggested donation is $15. However, please contribute as you are able.
