Peterborough Cares Long Weekend Event

PETERBOROUGH CARES LAUNCHES SIMULTANEOUS FUNDRAISING EVENTS.

Seventh year for umbrella group, coordinating multi-charity fundraisers on the same weekend

"Wouldn't it be a great idea to have a number of well-known charitable organizations launch their fundraising events on the same weekend, but at separate, popular shopping locations in the city, under one organizing umbrella?" That was the thought that came to Peterborough business owner, and former separate school board trustee Camille Parent. So, after consulting with a number of area organizations and individuals, Parent is pleased to announce that this year, over the weekend of Friday May 19, through Sunday May 21, Peterborough Cares will once again this year coordinate simultaneous fundraising events across our great city.

"We are proud once again to bring back what will continue to be one of the biggest humanitarian event ever held in our city on the same weekend," Mr. Parent said.

“A handful of local businesses, such as Morello's independent grocer (and others to be disclosed at a later date) will launch fundraising events on the same weekend, while using venues spread throughout the city. It will be a great opportunity for both volunteers and donors to come together to raise much needed funds for worthwhile causes."

"We all really believe that this group effort will continue to be successful and fullfill the needs and dreams of many. We are going to raise a lot of money for a number of excellent charitable organizations," Mr. Parent said. "It's the seventh such coordinated event under the Peterborough Cares banner, and we hope to continue to grow bigger as the years go by."
