rethinkGIVING on Saturday December 15th, 1-4PM at Emmanuel United Church, 534 George Street North.

Turn your compassion into action with Nourish! Create change while enjoying cookies and exercising your creativity! This year, give your friends and family gifts that inspire action.

Make your own social justice gift with the help of our fact and craft stations. Each station will offer an “ingredient for social change” and you can pick and choose the pieces you’d like to share with a loved one. We’ll have lots of art supplies available so you can cut and paste, doodle, write, and giftwrap your package of statistics, charts, recommendations for books or films, and more! You can even make your own social justice buttons!

rethinkGIVING is all about rethinking how we give over the holidays and all year round. At this time of year especially, our community very generously donates their time and money, often to food programs, but many of us forget the necessity of creating the kind of upstream change that could end poverty and food insecurity altogether.

This family-friendly event will also give you the opportunity to participate in our photobooth. Do you have an important message you’d like us to share with our social media following? Make a sign and we’ll take your picture.

This is a free drop-in event.
