Live and Local Lunches — Robin Hawkins

Back for its third year, Live and Local Lunches has a new lineup of rock, folk, blues, country and jazz.

Live and Local Lunches is a partnership with the Downtown Business Improvement Area, Peterborough Square, Gerri’s Arts and Crafts, and Bench Tech to host live music outdoors every Friday for one hour starting at noon in the Peterborough Square Courtyard at the corner of Charlotte and Water streets. This summer music series starts May 25 and runs to Aug. 31.

With more than 90 places to eat downtown, music lovers are encouraged to get some takeout and enjoy the sunshine as we head into the weekend.

"These small concerts are a great way to animate the downtown in a fun and positive way,” says

Terry Guiel, executive director of the Downtown Business Improvement Area. "They are also a real treat for all the employees who work downtown to take some time to get out of the office, grab some lunch and enjoy live music under the sunny skies."

“I get stopped all year-long and asked ‘When do you start back up again? or comments like ‘I really enjoy Fridays Downtown now,’ etc. People are stoked to see this series return for the third year,” says Kip Gordon, owner of Bench Tech. “Music connects people and cures all that ails you! Come on down and check it out —  you won't be sorry!”

“We at Gerri’s Arts & Crafts believe that the local talent in Peterborough is second to none,” says Les Manley, owner of Gerri’s Arts & Crafts. “Encompassing all genres, set in beautiful Downtown Peterborough, the open air venue is a perfect way to spend a Friday lunch.”
