The Riverview Park & Zoo is excited to announce they have successfully hatched a Sulawesi Forest Turtle, which is a critically endangered species. There is a worldwide effort to manage a sustainable captive population to preserve the species but successful hatchings are extremely rare. The egg is incubated under carefully controlled conditions for 152 days...

And the hatching begins...

The zoo team was very nervous as there was no sign of movement at first...
