A new crowdfunding initiative has just been launched that might make that possible for Parker and others like him someday soon.

The GoFundMe campaign is to raise money for wheelchair accessible swings at the Riverview Park & Zoo.

The campaign was launched by James Todd and his wife, Jennifer, in partnership with the Peterborough Huskies, a well known local special needs hockey team.

The swings cost about $2,000 to $2,500 each, not including the structure and installation costs, according to the GoFundMe page.

The goal of the campaign is to raise $15,000, which would allow for wheelchair accessible swings to be installed at the zoo.

The Riverview Park & Zoo management are fully supportive of this campaign by the Todds and Huskies, and have begun the process of researching the best equipment to install within the playground area should enough money be raised.

This is a great opp for the community to come together to allow everyone to be able to go for a swing!
