Bras Around The Building For Breast Cancer Awareness Month Was Huge Success

Energy 99.7, Country 105 and OLG Slots At Kawartha teamed up again this year to raise bras and funds for Breast Cancer Awareness Month for the Bras Around the Building Campaign. The totals aren't in yet—OLG Slots at Kawartha donates $1 per gently-used bra collected to the Canadian Cancer Society to support breast cancer research—but it looks like a smash success once again as more than 6,000 bras were collected (surpassing last year's total) and strung around the radio station's building at 59 George Street North. The bras will be cleaned and turned over to various programs supporting women. Awesome.

Here Are Pictures Of 4,595 Bras That Were Donated For Bras Around The Building

After nearly a month of collecting bras for "Bras Around The Building", today was the day where they would all be linked together and chained around the CHUM Kawarthas building on George Street. Firetrucks hoisted up the thousands of bras that were generously donated by the community in the campaign to help raise awareness about breast cancer. 4,595 bras were donated, meaning that OLG Slots—which said it would donate $1 for every bra collected—will be donating $4,595 to the Peterborough & District unit of the Canadian Cancer Society. Once the bras are cleaned now by both Rocky's and Kent Cleaners, they will then be donated to the YWCA for distribution.

Don't Forget To Donate Your Bras For A Great Cause

We are a little over halfway through the month, and don't forget that bras will be collected until October 27th for "Bras Around the Building" at The Canadian Cancer Society, OLG Slots at Kawartha Downs and Country 105/Energy 99.7. For every bra collected during the campaign, OLG Slots will donate $1 to the Canadian Cancer Society.
