Wanted Campbellford Woman on Warrant Arrested On Multiple Charges

Peterborough Police arrested a 26-year-old Campbellford woman wanted on a warrant on Monday afternoon.

At roughly 5:30 p.m. on Monday, the woman was located and arrested by Peterborough Police. She was charged with a dangerous operation of a vehicle and failing to stop at an accident resulting in bodily harm in connection with two incidents over the weekend. 

Around 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, officers were called to a home after reports a vehicle was driven at a group of people. The driver allegedly got out and swung a bat at several women. 

Police received a second call from 9-1-1 about a vehicle being driven erratically in the George and Lake Street area that struck a man. He was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment.

In addition to the warrant, the woman was also charged with:

  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes

  • Dangerous operation causing bodily harm

  • Assault with a weapon

  • Two counts of abandoning a child (two young children were in the vehicle at the time of the incidents)

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
