Peterborough Man Wanted On Two Warrants For Fraud and Assault Arrested
/A 34-year-old Peterborough man wanted on two warrants was arrested on Thursday.

At roughly 8 p.m., officers spotted the man in a parking lot in the Lansdowne Street and Park Street South area and took him into custody.
The man wanted on warrants for Assault – Spousal stemming from an incident in November of 2023 and Fraud Under $5000 in connection with an incident in June of 2024 was arrested.
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court on Friday.

Two Suspects Sought After Break-and-Enter With Several Items Stolen Thursday Morning
/The Peterborough Police Service is seeking one male and one female suspect involved in a break-and-enter at a Peterborough business on early Thursday morning.

At roughly 2 a.m., officers were reported an incident at a store in the Chandler Crescent and Parkhill Road West area. A vehicle may have been backed into the building and that a male and female suspect fled with cigarettes, lottery tickets and chocolate.
The suspects are described as:

Green Jacket with light coloured sleeves
Beige shorts
Black running shoes

Dark coloured with hood up

Possibly gloves
The vehicle is a newer model Toyota Highlander SUV that has rear-end damage.

Peterborough Police Seeking Two Suspects Involved In Multiple Assaults; One Woman Arrested
/One person is facing charges and police are searching for two others after several incidents involving assault in downtown Peterborough early Wednesday morning.

At roughly 12:20 a.m., officers received reports of an assault. A victim had been walking in the Charlotte Street and George Street area when a woman who was walking with two men ran at her with a knife, calling her names based on her skin colour.
The victim started to run but fell. The female suspect caught up to her, punched her in the face and pulled her hair. The victim was treated at the scene by EMS and then taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for further treatment. Police have classified the incident as a hate crime.
During the investigation, another call came in involving a similarly described suspects. In this case, the male victim said he was approached by two men and a woman in the Hunter Street and Bethune Street area and that he had been punched in the face and kicked by two males.
While officers were investigating the second call, a third one involving the group came in where a female suspect matching the description given to police had verbally threatened a woman in the Brock Street and George Street area.
Officers saw a female matching the description given to police a short distance away. However, when she spotted officers, she started to run. Officers chased her on foot and took her into custody without incident.
The 21-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
Utter Threats to Cause Death X2
Assault
Assault with Weapon
Possess weapon for dangerous purpose
Fail to comply with probation x2
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 20.
Police are currently searching for the male suspects. They were described to police as:
Male, Caucasian
Possibly 16-18 years old
Shaggy hair
One was wearing a white shirt, dark coloured shorts, a white hat on backwards, white shoes, and a blue backpack

Peterborough Man Arrested For Possessing Stolen E-Bike During a Police Traffic Stop
/A 53-year-old Peterborough man is facing a possession by crime charge after a traffic stop early Tuesday morning.

Peterborough Man Charged With Two Counts of Attempted Murder Involving His Intimate Partner
/The Peterborough Police Service investigated an incident regarding an attempted murder between involving a 28-Peterborough man and his partner in the Brock Street and Aylmer Street area on Saturday.
After the investigation, the man has been arrested and charged with:
Attempted murder X2
The accused is being held in custody and appeared in court on Sunday.
Police say there is no threat to public safety as a result of this incident and thanks the community for their understanding during the investigation.

Robbery Suspect Sought After Taking Several Items Including Money
/The Peterborough Police Service is looking for a female robbery suspect who took several items, including cash after an incident early Thursday morning.

At roughly 3:45 a.m., employees called police to the McDonnel Street and Aylmer Street area. A woman brandishing a knife, entered the store, demanded cash from the employee and then left the store on foot according to a police report. She left with cash, several gift cards, cigarettes and food. Officers searched the area but did not locate the suspect. The employee was not injured.
The suspect was described to police as:
Female, Caucasian
Approximately 5’7 with a medium build
Wearing a grey hoodie with the hood pulled up tight around her head and face, grey pants with a black backpack

Petebrorough Man Arrested For Domestic Assault After Allegedly Pushing and Choking a Woman
/A 30-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges involving a domestic assault on a woman.

On Wednesday, Police learned that the man pushed and choked the woman during an argument. The victim attended Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) for treatment of her injuries.
The man was arrested and charged with:

Assault Cause Bodily Harm - Choking (Domestic)
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 13.
To protect the identity of the victim, Police are not releasing the name of the accused.

Two-Car Collision Leads to One Vehicle Crashing Into House; One Driver Charged, Other Treated With Minor Injuries
/The Peterborough Police Service is investigating a two-vehicle collision in which one vehicle crashed into a house on Monday morning.

At roughly 10:15 a.m., officers were called to Rubidge Street and Murray Street about a two-vehicle collision.
Officers learned that one car had made an unsafe lane change and struck another, hitting the side of a house.
One driver was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre with minor injuries. Under the Highway Traffic Act, the other driver was charged with unsafe move, lane or shoulder.

Peterborough Teenager Arrested With Possession of a Knife While Walking About a Baseball Field

At roughly 6:15 p.m., officers were called about a male walking about the baseball park at Hunter Street and Burnham Street, opening and closing a knife. When officers arrived, they learned that several people were concerned by the man’s behaviour. Officers located a man matching the description given to police a short distance away. When they took him into custody, a knife was also seized.
