Peterborough Man Charged With Impaired Driving From Parking Lot Collision

A 33-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired charges after a parking lot collision in Peterborough on Friday.

At roughly 9:30 p.m., officers recieved a call of a collision near The Parkway and Lansdowne Street West. Officers spoke with the drivers and while speaking with one of them noticed signs of impairment. No one was injured in the collision.

The Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

  • Careless driving (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court June 10.

Peterborough Man Arrested and Charged With Impaired Driving While Partially Stopped In a Live Lane

A 45-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired charges after being partially stopped in a live lane on Thursday afternoon.

At roughly 2:45 p.m. at George Street North and Murray Street, officers were directed to the vehicle. While speaking with the driver, officers noticed signs of impairment.

The man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs

  • Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

During the investigation, it was learned that the man was a prohibited driver.

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on June 10.

Peterborough Police Arrest Six People Wanted On Warrants In Unrelated Incidents

The Peterborough Police Service arrested six individuals who were wanted on outstanding warrants on Wednesday.

The warrants were for various offences, including assault, theft under $5,000, failure to appear, and failure to comply with probation.

Police say the arrests and incidents were not related.

Peterborough Man Arrested For Brandishing Knife At Peterborough Regional Health Centre Security

A 28-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges after causing a disturbance and drawing a knife towards security at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) on Tuesday morning.

At roughly 3:45 a.m., a disturbance occurred at the PRHC’s Emergency Department. Officers learned that security had asked a man to leave the premises. The suspect became aggressive with security and brandished a knife before fleeing.

A man matching the description given to police was located walking away from the hospital. Due to the suspect reported to have a weapon, officers drew their Conducted Energy Weapons and initiated an arrest. The man complied with the officer's demands and was taken into custody. Security officers located a knife and turned it over to police.

The man was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

  • Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm

  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused is currently bound by two probation orders with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.

Peterborough Man Arrested On Harassing Multiple Women at a Walmart From Early March

A 23-year-old Peterborough man is facing a criminal harassment charge following an incident on March 8.

At roughly 6 p.m. at the Chemong location Walmart, multiple female victims reported a man following them extremely closely through the store while possibly recording them or taking photos. The victims felt unsafe as a result. Peterborough Police, through an investigation, identified a suspect. 

An off-duty officer spotted the suspect in the same store parking lot and took him into custody with the assistance of Investigative Services on Monday. The suspect was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on June 3.

Three Minors Arrested and Charged With Breaking and Entering a Construction Site and Arson

Officers with the Peterborough Police Service have identified three individuals in connection with a series of break-ins at a construction site first reported Tuesday.

At roughly 9:50 p.m. on Wednesday, officers were dispatched to the site on Deline Street regarding reports of young people attempting to set a fire on the property. Officers located and arrested two males.  Through investigation, a third male was identified and arrested and Police determined that these youths were also involved in two other incidents (April 11 and April 20) at the same construction site.

As a result of the investigation,

A 12-year-old Peterborough male was arrested and charged with:

  • Break, Enter a place - commit indictable offence – mischief X3

  • Arson – Damage to Property

A 14-year-old Peterborough male was arrested and charged with:

  • Break, Enter a place - commit indictable offence - mischief X3

  • Arson – Damage to Property

  • Obstruct Peace Officer (providing a false name)

A 16-year-old Peterborough male was arrested and charged with:

  • Break, Enter a place - commit indictable offence – mischief X3

  • Arson – Damage to Property

All the accused were released on a youth undertaking and are scheduled to appear in court on June 9.

Three Toronto Men Arrested and Charged With Drug Trafficking After Executed Search Warrant From Peterborough Police

Three Toronto men are facing drug trafficking charges and were arrested after an executed search warrant at a Peterborough residence Wednesday afternoon.

At roughly 3 p.m., Drug Unit and Emergency Response Team (ERT) officers searched a residence on Driscoll Terrace near Hunter Street East after a drug investigation that started earlier this year. 

One man was arrested by officers attempting to flee the residence and two others were apprehended by K9 Isaac and detained by officers after a brief foot pursuit downtown in the area of Dalhousie and George Street.  

 During the search of the residence, officers located:

  • Loaded firearm

  • 53.7 grams of Cocaine

  • 11.1 grams of Fentanyl

  • 30 Percocet Pills

  • Cellphones

  • Over $5,000 in Canadian currency

A 24-year-old Scarborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Traffick in Schedule I substance- Cocaine

  • Traffick in Schedule I substance- Cocaine

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs (Fentanyl)

  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 - in Canada

  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

  • Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm

  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm

A 23-year-old Scarborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Traffick in Schedule I substance- Cocaine X3

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs (Fentanyl)

  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 - in Canada

A 21-year-old Toronto man was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs (Fentanyl)

  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 - in Canada

All the accused were held in custody and appeared in court on Thursday.

Peterborough Police Seeking Suspects Stealing Vehicles From Dealership

The Peterborough Police Service are seeking suspects involved in taking two vehicles from a dealership over the weekend.

Officers were called to the Kawartha Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Fiat dealership after employees discovered two vehicles were missing on Tuesday. Both were Jeep Wrangler Rubicons; one was a 2025 model (Anvil Grey) and the other a 2021 model (Black).  

Officers were able to view CCTV footage of the incident, which shows three suspects walking around the vehicles at roughly 10:45 p.m. on Sunday. By 11 p.m., both vehicles had been driven off the lot and were headed eastbound on Lansdowne Street.

Peterborough Police Seeking Any Suspects Breaking Into Two Construction Sites

Officers with the Peterborough Police Service are investigating after a construction site was broken into twice in the past week and are seeking any suspects.

The first incident on Deline Street was reported on Friday and believed to have happened between Thursday evening and Friday morning. The second incident happened on Sunday at roughly 7 a.m. 

In both cases, the site was broken into and damage was caused to the construction materials.

Two Brampton Men Arrested For Theft at a Home Depot; One Man Wanted On a Warrant

Two Brampton men have been arrested and charged with theft at a Home Depot, as reported on Thursday.

At roughly 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, officers saw two men matching a given description exiting Home Depot and took them into custody.  

During the investigation, officers were informed of an incident that occurred on April 8, in which two men entered the store, paid for only some of the items in their cart at the self-checkout and then left. 

A 57-year-old Brampton man wanted on a warrant for multiple theft incidents between August 2024 and April 2025 was arrested in Peterborough on Wednesday.

On the strength of the warrant, he was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft under $5,000 x15

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court on Thursday.

The second man, a 27-year-old Brampton man was charged with:

  • Theft under $5,000 x3

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court May 27.
