PolarFest 2015

Come Chill With Us January 30 – February 1, 2015

PolarFest is an exciting winter carnival offering events guaranteed to entertain the whole family. The opening festivities will take place at Ennismore Heritage Artspace Centre located on Ennis Road in Ennismore. Following the ceremony will be a fireworks display, there will also be other events on Friday evening, including a night hike at the

Marshland Centre hosted by the Lakefield Trail Committee and a candlelight skate at the Ontario Speed Skating Oval in Lakefield.

The fun continues on Saturday with more events: 

• Pancake breakfast hosted by the Causeway Christian Assembly
• Ice sculptures through the Township and a competition/awards ceremony
• Ennismore Heritage Artspace Lunch, check out the ice sculptures in Ennismore and warm up inside the
• newly renovated building and grab a bite to eat!
• Little chippers - hands on ice carving for children
• Paint Cant Curling in front of Star Marina
• Pick up hockey at the Ontario Speed Skating Oval
• Hot air balloon rides with RE/MAX
• Ice Bar at the Lakefield Legion
• Free Public Skating
• Fun Activities for Young Children, Lakefield Library with the Lakefield Family Hub (PFRC)
• Polar Paddle on Queen Street in Lakefield, an event that can’t be missed
• Horse drawn sleigh rides in Ennismore hosted by the Optimist Club
• Live Music at Chemong Lodge Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

We wrap up the festival with a bang. On Sunday February 1st  PolarFest has free public skating at the Ennismore arena. All ice sculptures will still be on display, so if you couldn’t make it out on Saturday, make sure you come by and take a look on Sunday. All day Sunday is Nordic Day at the Ontario Speed Skating Oval, Adventure Outfitters will be there, so it is the time to try cross country skiing or snowshoeing. Last but not least is the Annual Polar Plunge hosted by B.E.L. Rotary Club, watch people who raised money for local charities plunge into the frigid waters! While you are there, RE/MAX will be doing hot air balloon rides and there will be an antique snowmobile display.
