The Peterborough chapter of Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan (CW4WAfghan) presents its annual dinner and informative evening about Afghanistan Sunday, Nov. 8 at St. John’s Anglican Church, 99 Brock Street.  

Doors open at 5:15 p.m. for guests to browse the numerous silent auction items. Crafts, hand-made by women in Afghanistan, and Red Pashmina scarves will also be for sale. A dinner of Afghani food will be served at 6 p.m., followed by an Afghan speaker who worked with the Canadian military in Afghanistan.  

Proceeds from the evening will go to CW4WAfghan to further the education of women and girls in Afghanistan and to support teacher training.
