Stories & Songs of Stompin’ Tom

Stories & Songs of Stompin’ Tom

Presented by Whiskey Jack
Featuring: Sean Cullen

Special guest opener: Douglas John Cameron

Friday, April 17, 2015 8:00pm

Stories and Songs of Stompin’ Tom, presented by one of Tom’s favourite back up bands, Whiskey Jack, will have the Market Hall Performing Arts Centre hopping and dancing on Friday, April 17th at 8:00 p.m. When Tom needed a band for a tour, at his private house parties or in the recording studio, he would often call Whiskey Jack to help him out. Their 25 years of working with Stompin’ Tom provides them with countless songs and stories that the Peterborough fans will relish. This is after all the town that gave Tom his “Stompin'” moniker.

The Whiskey Jack/Sean Cullen collaboration began at the 2014 Stratford Summer Music Festival.  With Sean as MC and the band tearing up the stage with Stompin’ Tom’s biggest hits, they left the standing room only crowd laughing until they cried.

Whiskey Jack has been touring and recording for 35 years and were best known for their years as regulars on the CBC’s Tommy Hunter Show. Besides Tom’s Peterborough Postman, expect to hear Bud the Spud, Tillsonburg, Sudbury Saturday Night,  Big Joe Mufferaw, The Ketchup Song and of course, be prepared to sing along on The Hockey Song.

Join us as we salute this great Canadian troubadour.
