The Greater Peterborough Innovation Cluster has announced the second event in the new “E-Connect” program for Peterborough’s entrepreneurs.
E-Connect is a monthly forum that connects local entrepreneurs and start-ups with mentors, advisors, and investors.
Innovation Cluster executive director, Martin Yuill, told us that E-Connect is an initiative of FastStart, “which is an entrepreneurial training partnership between Trent University, Fleming College and the Greater Peterborough Innovation Cluster.”
FastStart is aimed at university and college students and is designed to increase their entrepreneurial skills and awareness, help students create solid businesses, and take their products and services to market.
Yuill says that the focus of the E-Connect program is both to inspire new entrepreneurs and help existing entrepreneurs to network, share and exchange ideas, and build supportive relationships.
“Most importantly,” Yuill says, “E-Connect is designed to be the place where Peterborough’s new entrepreneurs are inspired, where existing entrepreneurs grow, and where successful entrepreneurs share.”
Each E-Connect features guest entrepreneurs who have “been there and done that”, and who share their experiences to help inspire Peterborough’s next generation of entrepreneurs.
On Tuesday, April 7, the second E-Connect will feature two prominent Peterborough entrepreneurs: Matt Philips and Mike Watt.
Matt Philips is a Partner at The Publican House Brewery. Mike Watt is Owner of Flavour, Plush Boutique and S.O.S. Save Our Souls.
E-Connect takes place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7 at The Venue, 268 George St N, Peterborough. Pre-registration is required.
