Detroit. 1960. The Motown Record Corporation is founded by Berry Gordy Jr. and a new style of soul music, with a distinct pop influence, is born. The Peterborough Pop Ensemble, under the direction of Barbara Monahan, is thrilled to present That Motown Sound on Saturday, May 2, 2015, 7:30 p.m. at Market Hall Performing Arts Centre in Peterborough. Come celebrate the music and artists that changed history – artists such as Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross and The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, The Four Tops, The Jackson 5 and many others.
