Hootenanny on Hunter Street, one of downtown Peterborough’s most popular street festivals, returns this Saturday (Aug. 13).
This year’s headliner is none other than Canadian indie rock legends Sloan! The music starts at 1 pm and includes country, rock ‘n’ roll, bluegrass, folk, soul, funk, surf rock and big band.
The vendor’s market opens at 11:30 am and features an array of eclectic offerings including arts, crafts, clothing and food. Be sure to check out the Hunter Street café district and sample some local flavours.
The Hootenanny takes place along Hunter Street between George and Aylmer streets. This section of the street will be pedestrian-only during this time.
“Between the live music, patios and showcase of local vendors, there’s something for everyone at Hootenanny,” says Jon Hall, Hootenanny organizer and owner of Spanky’s. “Admission is free, so come downtown and check out Hunter Street this Saturday.”
