As Christmas draws closer you may be wondering how to give back to our wonderful community. Each year, Jessica Margetts of Ralph & Co. Confections bakes, decorates, and donates over 100 decorated cookies to local charitable holiday events. This year, she wants to involve YOU!
Please join us in Watson & Lou's festive and cozy studio on the evening of December 22nd, alongside some warm and spiked beverages, holiday music, yummy treats, and Christmas chatter, to help dress up dozens of cookies to donate to local friends who may be need of some sweet holiday cheer.
We will (briefly) discuss all aspects of the cookie making process (from ingredients and baking, to royal icing consistencies and drying time), and will learn basic cookie decorating techniques including:
Basic flooding
Wet-on-wet flooding technique
Piping lines and details
Hand-painting (gold) details
Using royal icing transfers
When all is said and done you will have learned some new cookie decorating party tricks, will have a set of four beautifully decorated cookies to take home, and we, as a group, will have boxes of completed cookies for donation.
