Doors Open is an annual event that takes place across Ontario from April to October where members of the public can access buildings for free that would normally be closed to the public or have an associated fee. The event allows people to experience Ontario's diverse heritage and learn about many interesting places in their communities.
In 2018, Doors Open Peterborough will take place on Saturday May 5, from 10 am to 4 pm and feature sites that explore Peterborough's industrial heritage. The day will feature site visits, walking tours, and free rides on a town trolley. All sites will offer free admissions and many will feature guided tours and information about the site's history.
