The Alzheimer Society of Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland and Haliburton is inviting community members, families, friends, local businesses, and supporters to take part in the 2026 IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Beavermead Park in Peterborough. Opening Ceremonies will begin at 10:15 a.m.
This year’s Walk will bring the community together for a meaningful morning of remembrance, connection, celebration, and support for the more than 14,920 people living with a form of dementia in our region. Participants will walk from Beavermead Park to Rogers Cove in honour of those impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, while raising funds to support local programs, services, education, and resources.
The event will include Opening Ceremonies at 10:15 a.m., followed by a community celebration, family-friendly activities, local booths, carnival and outdoor games, a petting zoo, face painting, live music, and community education opportunities. Participants of all ages are welcome, including children, grandparents, families, friends, and even dogs.
