The Peterborough Concert Band is delighted to announce a special holiday performance at Peterborough Square on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. The free, family-friendly concert will take place at the base of the escalators inside Peterborough Square, just ahead of the annual Santa Claus Parade, adding festive spirit to an already beloved community tradition.
Attendees of all ages are invited to stop by, enjoy classic and contemporary holiday music, and share in the excitement as the city gears up for parade time.
The Peterborough Concert Band, conducted by Saman Shahi, is a spirited community band based in Peterborough, Ontario. Founded in 1858, it is one of the oldest continuously operating concert bands in Canada. For over 165 years, the band has reflected the cultural and historical life of Peterborough and the nation.
Today, the Concert Band remains innovative, vibrant, and relevant with an extensive repertoire that includes popular, traditional, and contemporary music, as well as new commissions, show tunes, and classical gems. Its music appeals to people of all ages, continuing its long-standing tradition of enriching the community through performance.
