The Rotary Club of Peterborough’s Spelling Bee 2026

Get set to be on the edge of your seat and capture some amazing photos and video of The Rotary Club of Peterborough’s Spelling Bee on Saturday May 2nd, 2026.

This spring, thousands of students from grades 4-8 from across the region participated in qualifying spelling bees at their schools. On Saturday, the top spellers in each division will compete for some amazing prizes, including a laser tag party at Zap Attack Laser Tag, a week at Trent Excalibur Camp, a week at Camp Kawartha, bikes from Canadian Tire on Lansdowne, Lessons at the Art School of Peterborough, cash for their schools and more.

This is the 12th annual Spelling Bee organized by the Rotary Club of Peterborough. Education and Literacy is one of Rotary International’s 7 areas of focus. Every year the Rotary Club of Peterborough distributes thousands of dollars in bursaries for literacy programs in participating school. We believe that the Spelling Bee not only encourages literacy but also improves focus, communications, and public speaking skills.
