Ongoing Human and Environmental Abuses in the Extractive Sector
Keynote speaker Jen Gobby will introduce the conference at 13:00, speaking to Indigenous land defenders mobilizing against Canadian extractivism. Following lunch from 14:00 to 15:00, there will be presentations and a panel discussion on human rights violations and defence around Canadian extractivism abroad, featuring Catherine Coumans from MiningWatch Canada, Brent Patterson from Peace Brigades International, and Grahame Russell from Rights Action. We will conclude Day 1 with dinner from 17:00 to 18:00.
