Police Launch New Website:
The Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service is happy to
announce the launch of its new website. The site, which will be
available today, is designed to meet our objective of working with the
public to solve issues concerning safety in our communities. The site
provides online information about the programs and services provided by
the dedicated members of your police service. The site has several new
features that our service is very excited to offer to the community.
These include the ability to view the site in 24 different languages,
access to many community partners by direct links, and the launch of a
new interactive crime analysis map program using real time crime data.

Police Launch “My Beat” Alert Notification Service.
With the launch of the new Peterborough Lakefield Community Police
Service website, members of the community will now have access to “My
Beat”, an alert notification service. The Peterborough Lakefield
Community Police Service, in partnership with Nexicom, the Emergency
Management Division, Trent University and Fleming College, will have
access to broadcast emergency alerts to their respective audiences.
Anyone who resides, operates a business is employed, attends school or
visits the City of Peterborough or the Village of Lakefield can register
for this service. “My Beat” will keep citizens informed of important
events through the delivery of short text messages to cellular phones or
e-mail addresses.
