Special Weather Statement For This Weekend (And It's Not Pretty, But Your Grass Will Be Greener)

A special weather statement has been issued for this weekend, with the chance to see significant rainfall—possibly torrential at times—starting Saturday night.

Environment Canada says a low pressure system arriving Saturday will spread rain across Southern Ontario from west to east throughout the day. In a lot of areas, the rain will continue through Sunday afternoon—and may be heavy at times.

Between 20 to 40 millimetres of rain is expected in Peterborough and the Kawarthas, and significant easterly winds are expected to develop Saturday with gusts generally in the 50 to 70 km/h range.

Basically, your grass is about to get even greener—and longer.

And you will need an umbrella built to withstand heavy rain and wind...
