Hero Bystander Gets Into Car To Turn It Off After Suspected Drunk Driver Passes Out Approaching Intersection

Impaired Arrest:
On October 3, 2013 at approximately 4:30 p.m. the accused appeared passed out behind the wheel of his motor vehicle while at a stop light at Brealey Drive and Lansdowne Street.  The vehicle was slowly approaching the intersection.  A bystander was able to help stop the vehicle, turn it off and remove the keys from the ignition.  Police fire and ambulance were notified.  As a result of the investigation, Bogdan Ranic, 50 of Lansdowne Street was arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired, driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in blood and fail or refuse to provide sample.  He was held in custody and will appear in court today (October 4, 2013).
