Thieves Steal $25,000 Worth Of Belongings From Pinewood Drive Residence (Including Their Car)

UPDATED SEPTEMBER 14th (arrests have been made): From a Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service Media Release today...  

On the 13th of September at approximately 10:25 am officers located and stopped the stolen Chevrolet Impala on Murray Street near George Street. The driver Jeffrey Michael Nobes age 27 of no fixed address and the passenger Joshua Joseph James Berry age 25 of Murray Street were arrested. As a result of the investigation, Nobes has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.00, driving while disqualified, failing to comply with conditions of a probation order and break and enter. He was also arrested on two outstanding warrants for charges of uttering threats and failing to comply with conditions of a probation order. Berry has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.00, failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking and two counts of failing to comply with conditions of a probation order. Both accused were held in custody and will appear in court later this morning. Other stolen property from this break and enter has not been recovered and officers are continuing to investigate. Break and Enter:

Sometime between 2:00 pm on the 9th of September and 6:00 pm on the 11th of September suspects entered a Pinewood Drive residence through an unlocked garage door. Once inside the garage the suspects entered the home through an unlocked door. The suspects removed assorted food from a freezer, a 47” Dynex Television, a 44” Sharp Television, a 24” Apple IMAC Desktop Computer, a Sony Cybershot DSC-TX5 Camera, a Canon SD1300 Powershot Camera, a laptop computer, an 8 GB I Pod in black suede case, two jewellery boxes one with a black lacquer finish and oriental inscriptions in gold containing assorted rings one being a Kenner High School ring, a pair of pearl stud earrings, a watch with the City of Peterborough crest, 2 drill sets, numerous tools, older Canadian $5, $2 and centennial $1 bills, a 40oz bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream, a 40oz bottle of Gin, a BOSE Radio and CD player with a white 2 GB I Pod, and a 2006 Chevrolet Impala black in colour with Ontario plate # AYXM415. The total value of the theft is estimated at $25,000.00. Anyone with information is asked to call the Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
