A Grade 1-2 Class At Westmount Made Special Boxes To Welome Refugee Children

In a beautiful gesture—and amazing learning experience—a Grade 1-2 Class at Westmount Public School in Peterborough made 45 age appropriate boxes for new items to give to Syrian refugee children coming to Peterborough.

Madame Pellerin's Grade 1-2 Class not only made the boxes for babies, adolescents and teens but learned about the New Canadians Centre during a visit there, and different ways to make refugees feel welcome in Peterborough.

Sponsorship Groups of refugee families and new families are invited to select a box for each child next time they visit the New Canadians Centre.

Jessica Devlin from New Canadians Centre tells PTBOCanada more schools are donating as well: "We just had another huge load of amazingly generous donations for refugee kids—our neighbour across the street Monseigneur-Jamot."
