PTBOCanada Featured Post: 2015 Bears' Lair Entrepreneurial Competition Is On!

The 2015 Bears' Lair Competition is looking for Peterborough’s next great entrepreneur—and it could be you!

Yes, Peterborough’s friendly, homegrown version of the hit CBC show Dragons' Den is back for a fifth year and is currently seeking entries. The contest is open to potential and existing businesses with a great idea (and execution) that benefits the local economy, is innovative, is financially viable, and shows that the entrepreneur has both passion and has done their research.

It is a chance to make the dream a reality, take the project from the garage into production, or help a current business expand operations. If last year’s winner, The Land Canadian Adventures are any indication, Bears’ Lair serves as a great launching pad.

The 2015 contest features two streams—"Innovation" and "Goods & Services"—so that means there are now two 1st place $5,000 and two 2nd place $1,000 cash prizes to be won.

Entrants and winners also get a lot of support from the professional and business service resources in Peterborough’s Startup Community. This includes business planning, accounting, legal services, communications, technology, marketing support and office space.
