Earlier this week, a home on Homewood Ave. was broken into during the day when the family was out, as thieves broke in through a basement window and stole a small number of electronics.

What also was stolen, the homeowners Kevin and Jen Oickle tell us, was their 5-year-old's beloved blankie "Boo".

Boo was knit for young Ryan by his aunt, and he slept with Boo every night. "Boo was his best friend," Kevin tells PTBOCanada.com. "He was devastated when we told him that Boo had been taken."

Ryan's kindergarten class at Queen Mary Public School heard about what had happened, and the teachers and children spent the day making posters to put up in the neighbourhood in the hopes Boo will be returned.

"We are so touched by this kind act and are blessed to belong to such a caring and supportive community," Kevin tells us. "Thank you Queen Mary for brightening our day. Let's hope that Boo will make it back home."

**Anyone with information on the break-in (and blanket) is asked to call the Peterborough Police Service at 705-876-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
