PTBOCanada Feature Post: Trinity College School
/April is here, and with that, the last few months of school are upon us. Summer break is right around the corner. But between now and those glorious few months of sun and fun, decision time looms.
Where should my children continue on with their education next year? If they are anywhere between Grades 5 and 12, you’ll want to consider Trinity College School!
Located just 30 minutes south of Peterborough down Hwy 28 is the picturesque campus of Trinity College School (TCS), one of Canada's oldest and most respected educational institutions.
Originally opening in 1865, TCS is a co-educational, independent boarding/day school with nearly 460 students from Grades 9-12— approximately 60 percent of whom are boarders—while its Junior School, from Grade 5 to Grade 8, comprises nearly 100 students.
When considering its students, the school’s mission is to develop habits of the heart and mind for a life of purpose and service.
With a rich history and reputation as one of the leading independent schools in Canada, TCS aims to develop leaders of character, purpose and vision due to the strength of its people, program and place.
The stunning TCS campus
Situated on 100 acres of rolling countryside in beautiful Port Hope, Ontario, Canada, TCS is offering some great opportunities for families to learn more about the School first hand!
On Saturday, April 30th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., TCS is hosting an Open House to provide prospective families with the opportunity to tour the School and gain insight into the academic and co-curricular programs as well as student life. You will be able to learn about what students do every day at TCS, while observing some of the School’s co-curricular activities in action. Also, you will have a chance to meet the headmaster, staff and students.
On Friday, May 6th, TCS is offering a “Spend a Day” event. This will be an opportunity for prospective students applying to Grades 9-12 to spend the day in classes, hosted by one of the School’s current students.
Space is limited for this popular event, so contact the admissions office at 905-885-3209 or admissions@tcs.on.ca soon to register.
TCS is proud to be one of only 10 schools in Canada selected by the College Board to offer the innovative Advanced Placement (AP) Capstone Diploma™, a two-year program of study for Grade 11 and 12 students that focuses on critical thinking, collaborative problem solving and research skills in a cross-curricular context.
This diploma is a great way to prep for university, further enhancing student’s current high school coursework.
