PTBOCanada Featured Post: Gauvreau & Associates Is Moving To 150 King St. In Downtown Peterborough

There has been massive momentum in downtown Peterborough lately with lots of exciting initiatives and future possibilities in the business and entrepreneurial community.

The latest transition move will add to this excitement and will solidify the entrepreneurial district of our downtown and certainly bring even energy and momentum to an already booming corner.

Gauvreau & Associates CPA, long established at 70 Hunter St. W next to Quaker Oats and the Hunter St. bridge, is partnering with Ashburnham Realty to transition its offices to 150 King St. (see picture below) in late 2018, at the corner of King and George.

Right now you might be thinking to yourself, “Why does that address ring a bell?” Well, you’re probably not alone. It happens to be one of the larger buildings in our city’s core and is currently the home of Canada Post.

This building was once the bustling home of many financial advisors and health professionals, but with the expansion of the Peterborough Family Health Team who moved from 150 King St. to 185 King St., things have been rather quiet in the building.

The move and expansion of Gauvreau & Associates CPA as a new anchor tenant will certainly give this location a shot of adrenaline to bring life to the building.

Why the move? It’s simply time. That and the fact that Gauvreau & Associates have outgrown their current home. While the constant smell of brown sugar oatmeal emitting from the Quaker Oats plant will be hard to match, the move will allow the team to continue to grow and expand their services to meet the ever increasing needs of their business clients.

“This is a strategic move that will allow for our team to continue to deliver world class accounting, tax, advisory and consulting services to assist business owners to realize their financial freedom," Founding Partner Bob Gauvreau says.

While their current home on Hunter St. (pictured above) has served them well and is easily one of the most recognizable buildings on the busy street, the move is a necessary one as they continue to grow.

Since opening the business in 2008, Gauvreau & Associates CPA has matured from a modestly staffed firm to one that is now attracting more and more incredibly talented individuals to the team 10 years later.

“We need to invest in a facility that will continue to attract the brightest talent to join our superstar team of accounting professionals,” says Gauvreau. This building will allow them to do just that with its sheer size alone.

Gauvreau & Associates team is excited about the move to larger quarters.

If you’ve visited the team at their current location, you’ll surely have experienced many of its charms. While the building itself might be changing, those charms won’t disappear. They’ll be added onto.

Gone will be the hillside parking, replaced by substantial out front street parking and the adjacent parking garage (with its 1 hour FREE parking). Gone will be the steps to walk up to the entrance, replaced by a front of building delivery zone for curbside drop-off and more accessible office space all around for their senior clients and those that are differently abled.

If you’re still trying to wrap your head around them leaving such an amazing piece of architecture, think of this as a major upgrade because it’s not the building you’re dealing with—it’s the team and culture inside of it.

They’ll now have more room to assist you and be able to expand their service offerings by continuing to attract the best accounting and financial professionals in the area to work with them.

They’ll also be kitty corner to the freshly developed VentureNorth building, which focuses on offering business support services for entrepreneurs who they deal with daily. With these two buildings anchoring the South end of Downtown Peterborough, the development of the area will only continue to be on the rise.

“We are very proud to have won a 'Best in Accounting, Client Service Award' for delivering industry leading services to our clients," Gauvreau tells us. "By creating a more accommodating space with more meeting rooms and greater accessibility, we are committed to taking our client service to a new level.”

While no set move in date has been announced, it’s anticipated that the move will take place in the fall of 2018. The building might be changing but their online homes won’t be. For more info on Gauvreau & Associates CPA, see below:
