Investigation Continues Over Shots Fired Downtown Peterborough

Officers with the Peterborough Police Service Investigative Services branch are continuing to investigate after gunshots were heard Downtown Peterborough early Monday morning.

At approximately 12:51 a.m. on Jan. 12, an officer on general patrol in the area of Dalhousie Street and Rubidge Street heard multiple popping sounds that sounded like gunfire. The officer started driving toward the sound and spotted three bullet holes in a window of 196 Park Street North. 

There were no injuries reported, however, one of the people inside the home suffered a K9 bite when they refused to exit the residence. They were taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment.

Through investigation it was learned that several people were spotted fleeing the area shortly after the sound.
