At roughly 7 p.m., officers were called to a residence in the Ireland Drive and Ravenwood Drive area regarding a discharged firearm inside a house. The bullet then struck and entered a second neighbouring home but no one was injured.

Police say the firearm was legally owned but not service-issued. It was seized at the time of the incident.

The investigation is still ongoing and at this time charges have not been laid.

“This is understandably a very troubling incident and the Peterborough Police Service is thankful that no one was injured,” said Stuart Betts, Peterborough Police Service Chief. “Any further details will be released when available.”
