Kieron Walton’s Debut Sees Shootout Win For the Peterborough Petes Against Guelph Storm

The Peterborough Petes hosted the Guelph Storm on Saturday, winning the game 3-2 with a shootout goal from newly-acquired forward Kieron Walton.

Walton led the way for the Petes, scoring and adding the shootout winner in his Peterborough debut. Leon Kolarik gave the Petes their first goal, while James Petrovski, Adam Levac, Yanis Lutz and Kaden McGregor all picked up assists.

While the game saw no goals from either team in the first, the Petes secured the lead with goals in the second from Walton and Kolarik.

In the third, Guelph tied the score 2-2 with goals from Eric Frossard and Grant Spada.

With no goals in the overtime period, the Petes took the win during the shootout with another goal from Walton.

Saturday’s win gives the Petes a total of five wins in their last six games.

The Petes are back in action on Jan. 16 when they travel to Brantford to take on the Bulldogs. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the TD Civic Centre.
