This game was the second leg of a home-and-home series between the two teams. The Lakers missed their clinching chance Wednesday but got redemption in their final regular-season game.

The win gave the Lakers a one-point lead in the standings to get 14 points on the season to Brooklin’s 13.

Peterborough went on a 9-1 run late into the second period. Brooklin had six of the last 10 goals of the game but Peterborough kept the game out of reach for a dominating win.

The Cattoni brothers each scored two goals and combined for five assists to lead Peterborough. Brooklin’s Brady Kearnan and Mitch Wilde knotted a pair of goals each.

The best-of-seven Major Series Lacrosse (MSL) semi-final series begins Monday at 7 p.m. at the Memorial Centre. Game three is a Lakers home game for Thursday night.
