Peterborough Man Arrested For Trespassing With a Knife; Suspect Subdued Prior to Police Arrival

A 26-year-old Peterborough man was arrested for trespassing at night while holding a knife on Saturday night.

At approximately 10 p.m., Peterborough Police received a call from a resident stating that a man with a knife had been located at the rear of the residence. Officers arrived to the residence and located the accused being held on the ground by homeowner and neighbours. The accused had been disarmed prior to police arrival.

The man was arrested and charged with:

  • Trespassing at Night

  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused was held for Weekend and Statutory Holiday court on Sunday.
