Peterborough Man Charged With Stunt Driving After Going 101 Km/h In 50 Zone

A 24-year-old Peterborough man is facing multiple charges, including a stunt driving charge, after a traffic stop in Peterborough on Saturday morning.

At roughly 7:30 a.m., a Traffic Unit officer was on general patrol in the Clonsilla Ave and Spillsbury Drive area. They spotted a vehicle, which was recorded going 101 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone.

The driver was charged with:

  • Stunt in excess of 40km/hr

  • Speeding 101km/hr in a 50km/hr

  • Fail to wear a seatbelt

  • Obstruct licence plate

  • Windshield obstructed

The driver was issued a 30-day licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
