Peterborough Man Faces Stunt Driving Charges After Going 97 Km/H In a 50 Zone

A 27-year-old Peterborough man is facing stunt driving charges after going 97 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone on Friday morning.

At roughly 8:30 a.m., an officer in the area of Brealey Drive and Sherbrooke Street clocked going 47 km/h over the speed limit of 50.

The officer conducted the traffic stop and the driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) with:

  • Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act)

  • Speeding (Highway Traffic Act)

The driver was issued a 30-day licence suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment.

The driver is scheduled to attend court in February.
