Peterborough Petes Defeat Oshawa Generals With 3-1 Victory

The Peterborough Petes took the win over the rival Oshawa Generals Thursday, adding an empty net goal to wrap up the home game with a 3-1 score.

Goaltender Easton Rye stopped an impressive 29/30 shots for his 21st win of the season.

Petes Brennan Faulkner, Adam Novotný and Aiden Young scored in the game, while Matthew Soto brought two assists. Garrett Frazer, Adam Levac and Carson Cameron also had an assist in the win.

The first period saw an Oshawa goal from Porter Byrd-Leitner, while the second  goals from Faulkner and Novotný.

Heading into the third with a one point lead, the Petes secured the win with 1:07 remaining in the period as Young scored an empty net goal.

The Petes are back in action on Jan. 10 when they host the Guelph Storm. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
