Peterborough Petes End Preseason With Shootout Win Over Sarnia

The Peterborough Petes finish their preseason on a good note as they got a shootout win over the Sarnia Sting, 6-5, at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena on Friday.

Colin Fitzgerald led Peterborough with one goal and two assists for three points. He also scored in the shootout.

Adam Novotný and Gerry DiCunzolo scored their first goals as a Pete. Caden Taylor scored his third goal in two preseason games and racked up an assist.

Braydon McCallum and Matthew Perreault had two assists in the game. Yanis Lutz had an assist, his fourth in the preseason.

Easton Rye stopped 29 of 34 shots and four of six in the shootout.

The Petes are hosting their Season Ticket Member Barbecue on Tuesday.

The regular season begins Thursday with the Petes’s home opener against the Brampton Steelheads at 7:05 p.m. at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
