Peterborough Police Searching For Suspect And Stolen Vehicle From Sunday Carjacking

Peterborough Police Service are searching for a vehicle from a robbery and carjacking at the FreshCo Lansdowne Street parking lot on Sunday morning.

At roughly 7:45 a.m, officers were called to a parking lot after a woman reported her vehicle was stolen from her at knifepoint. Medical attention was not required for the victim.

Officers spotted the vehicle on The Parkway and pursued it onto Highway 115. The vehicle exited the highway and continued north on Highway 7. The police could not safely deploy a spike belt before the vehicle turned onto Lansdowne Street while speeding and headed back toward Peterborough. Police eventually called off the pursuit for safety reasons. 

Through investigation, police identified a pickup truck the suspect had exited in the parking lot and learned that it was reported stolen in Kingston on Saturday evening.

The suspect is described as:

  • White male

  • 20-30 years old

  • 200+ lbs.

  • 5’9” to 5’11”

  • Balding, light brown, short  

  • Unshaven

  • Wearing: large white t-shirt, dark pants

The vehicle is described to police as:

  • 2010 Toyota Corolla

  • Black

  • Four-Door

  • BNEJ 017
