Peterborough Woman Arrested From Two Theft Incidents

A 38-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges in connection with two recent theft incidents this past weekend.

On Friday, officers with Community F.I.R.S.T. were called to a store in the Aylmer Street and Charlotte Street area regarding a theft that occurred on Thursday evening. Several items were taken from the store and officers reviewed information and identified a suspect.

On Saturday, officers with Community F.I.R.S.T. were reviewing an online theft report and recognized the same suspect as the person wanted in connection with the theft on Friday.

The woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000 X2

  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order x8

  • Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court

The accused is currently bound by four probation orders with conditions including: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to remain away from all Shoppers Drug Mart stores in Peterborough. 

The accused is currently bound by a release order with the following condition: to remain in their residence between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday court on Sunday, at which time the accused was remanded into custody.  The accused will appear in court on Monday.
