The reopening follows the completion of the arena’s ice surface replacement project since April.

The celebration will begin with welcome remarks from local government representatives and Douro Minor Hockey, followed by a free public skate for residents to enjoy the new ice surface. Guests can also enjoy a free community BBQ from Enbridge Gas, hot chocolate from Douro Minor Hockey, cookies from Brioche Bakery and Halloween treats from the Township’s Recreation Facilities Department.

The Township encourages families to wear Halloween costumes for the event but masks must not be worn while on the ice for safety purposes.
