EXCLUSIVE! 10-Digit Dialing Is Now Live In the Peterpatch (Which Means You Can't Just Dial 867-5309)

Just kidding on the "exclusive". But yes, 10-digit dialing is here now (give it a try), and by March 12, 2011, will be mandatory for all calls from the 705 area code (911 excluded). And a new area code 249 will be added in as well because we're out of 705's.

What does all this mean? Well, it will take longer to call Jenny. And an extra one or two seconds of your life to make the call. But hey, you'll be getting more exercise punching those numbers in.

Get Ready for 10-Digit local dialing in the Patch (And an Additional Area Code)

By March 12, 2011, 10-digit local calling will be mandatory for all calls made from our 705 area code, with the actual transition to 10-digit dialing starting January 15th.

We will also be gaining a new area code of 249 starting March 19th, 2011, as the 705 area code is running out of available numbers. (Existing customers get to keep their current 705 area code.)
